About Jim
Hi, I’m Jim Powell.
I’m a husband, father, grandfather, pastor, writer/speaker, musician and entrepreneur. Most of all, I’m a follower of Jesus.
As a husband, father and grandfather, I am deeply committed to the world we are leaving to our children.
As a pastor, I am determined to hand off a robust and enduring faith to the next generation.
As a writer/speaker, I am passionate about helping people understand this thing called faith and how it weaves and flows throughout our lives and community, how it shapes our world, and how it helps us become the men and women that God has created us to be.
As a musician, I love to write songs that I hope encourage you, cause you to reflect and maybe help you laugh a bit.
As an entrepreneur, I love to start things.
As a follower of Jesus, I am complete.
I have at times been encouraged to choose a lane. At times, I have even thought that myself. But in the end, I am all of these things. To cut one out would be to cut off a part of myself.
My hope, is that as you explore my website, you will discover my passion for all of these things and maybe learn a bit about me, yourself, your faith and your world.

A little more about me…
I was born and raised in Northern California and was a touring musician for ten years prior to ministry. I began my ministry career in 1997 and have since served as a music pastor, an executive pastor and now a senior pastor. Along the way, I earned two masters degrees in leadership and Christian studies from Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN and earned a doctoral degree in global leadership from Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, NY.
And a little more…
I enjoy, hunting, fishing, and golfing (really anything outdoors) and I love to cook. I have also been known to indulge himself in the Dark Souls video game series from time to time (way more than I care to admit).
